Spring, but
grey above
grey below
grey michigaami
grey milwaukee ghosts
long clouds of winter
withdraw on wings
of grey gulls
pulling back the air
thin reeds bow east
leaving a trail to the shore
and I
I follow
until sitting on grey stone
spray on my face
awake
listening
Ojibwe whispers:
ominowakiing
gathers memories by the water
